I grew up in Santa Cruz, California where I attended UCSC with a major in French and the Visual Arts, graduating with honors.  I spent my junior year attending University in the French city of Lyon.  I have lived and worked in Portland, Oregon ever since.  Some of my passions in life include inspiration from nature, cooking for my family and a lifelong love of horses.

I have worked professionally in both the film and apparel industry for the last 12 years and have co-owned two studios in Portland, Oregon.  I opened my first studio, videominds with my husband, Jalal Jemison in 2002.  Our studio did visual effects, intro title sequences and new media productions including work for Miranda July and her film, Me and You and Everyone We Know.  In 2007, after a year of working freelance as an on set art director, I returned to the studio.  I started working with Laundry Studio, a surface and graphic design studio.  While a partner at Laundry, the studio launched an original print collection that we took to Paris and New York trade shows, as well as up and down the West Coast selling to a wide range of apparel, home textile and paper product clients.  In 2010, the studio was hired by Nike to help launch Nike's Print and Pattern Center of Excellence where my art direction and surface design supported several categories in print and pattern from 2010 - 2012, including Women's Training, Running, Tennis and Golf.
